2004 original owner. This happened to me Once (of course, I was on the other side of town - ugh). Driving smooth and fine and suddenly/quietly the engine turned off while I'm moving at 50 mph. It was the O2 sensor in the engine bay.
There is no way I can see an 02 sensor will shut off an engine.
