Default Re: Convertible Top Operation and the Central Locking Pump

The Central Locking Pump has an integrated microprocessor board that communitcates with the Top Module and the Body Control module in a complex conversation that controls the top, wing deployment, window operation, etc.

There is no "Bypass", you must replace the CLP-SSM as well as any corroded parts of the wiring harness. I and others have dealt with this time and again. You need the CLP-SSM as well as last 2-3 feet of wiring harness from another Roadster to get this all working. There is no other option. Also, cleaning the corroded contact pins is a waste of time, even if you get the mating surfaces clean, the crimps from aluminum pin to wire are all corroded and resistive now. Again, the the CLP-SSM and wiring harness from another car.

You may be surprised at the things that are corrected by this procedure.
