EXACTLY what codes are you getting? P0xxx - tell us what the values in the xxx are.
EXACTLY what 'lights' are coming on? "Dash lights" to me means backlighting, but I get the idea you don't mean backlighting.

This kinda sounds like a failing Traction Control relay or similar issue with the RCM - but the idea it clears by restarting the car kinda blows that idea.
