I found out that the small square black box in front of the heater valves on the passenger side is called a K56 and is a 125 fuse that links the alternator to the battery. That fusible link is solely triggered when an air bag is deployed and from what I have found they don't make the K56 anymore. I believe mine has been compromised which is why the car only had a handful of miles oner the last 5 years, just speculation on my part but I am installing a jumper while between the two terminals and I believe my charging issues are solved.
