I had an occasion to 'replace' the red button on one of my FOB's with one from a NEW eBay FOB case. The red 'pin' flared and the center portion disintegrated over time. Popped off (carefully) the red 'panic' button parts off the working FOB, and popped off the panic button off a NEW replacement FOB case (again, carefully), and the fit was perfect. Maybe, just maybe, your FOB circuit board switch is fine, and that red plastic 'panic' button pin is distorted and not correctly pushing the location where it should on the circuit board. Here below is the one I purchased, if this might be your issue. To help, you might be able to remove your 'panic' button (carefully) and push (gently) a clean-cut end of a toothpick into the hole and press the button to see if the switch is actually working. Here (

While I was at it, I also replaced the entire ''black' insert as well since it was slightly scratched from other stuff in my pocket over the years. Hope this helps! Good luck!
