Maybe, just maybe, your FOB circuit board switch is fine, and that red plastic 'panic' button pin is distorted and not correctly pushing the location where it should on the circuit board. To help, you might be able to remove your 'panic' button (carefully) and push (gently) a clean-cut end of a toothpick into the hole and press the button to see if the switch is actually working. While I was at it, I also replaced the entire ''black' insert as well since it was slightly scratched from other stuff in my pocket over the years. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I should have mentioned that the one fob is old (possibly the original) and the other fob is brand new. And neither one works.
