I have been using for a long time an Launch Creader VI+ as an OBD2 Scanner with verry good result . This little scanner was bought when I only had to check on my 2001 Chevrolet Blazer LS 2 doors 4X4 and later , on my Wife's car . . . an 2012 Nissan Juke SL AWD with intelligent key. The Launch VI+ has the JOBD protocol on board for Japanese car. The Crossfire was bought on the end of 2012. Connecting on it is by the VIN only , so verry limited result but with verry well explained informations on all the codes I had to diagnose since i got the XF.
I read, and also learnded a lot, on the Forum, on sugestion for a low cost option scanner and almost bought an Autel DIY version from Wlmart Canada but it had verry bad reviews ( probably a cnse mockoff )
While expanding my researh on the net, the Thinkcar link came often . . .
THINKCAR® Global | Leading Tech In Diagnostics and after contacted them for dealer inquiry in Canada, they told me that Kingbolen was an aproved authorized dealer. I wanted to be sure not to get an cnse mockoff . . .

My choice went on the ThinkCar ThinkScan SD6 because for the price, it has the capability of many OBD2 Protocols, covers many models and brand, it has an 6 system scanning capability with 5 free reset that you can choose out from many and the option to scan by VIN and also by manually selecting the brand and model of the car . . .

Ordered mine on May 7 and 20 days later, i had it in my hand. Up to now ,i use it on 4 differents brand of car with verry good result but i still have to learn much more on it. Couple of days ago i have scanned the XF under by VIN and also under Mercedes R170 SLK 320 and registred full report on all the faults stored in differents system and yesterday, before taking the XF for an afternoon ride, i cleared all those codes whithout any problems. The only downside is, to be able to have a verry detailed explanation on the one code in particular, you have to have acesibillity to WiFi while using it. It have an build in section with limited amount of information that you can access any time on any code explanation.
For the price invested ( under 250 $ CAD ) in this Scanner, that fit in the right pocket under the carpet of the trunk, i am verry impressed of is capability. I now, need to choose my 5 free reset among the 28 maintenance reset functions . . .
