So if I understand you right I can totally remove the sensor and block off the hole it goes through ... and doing this will not cause any other problems or warning lights on the dash ... the only thing is I would need to check the oil level using the dipstick, which is how I do it anyway ... simply unplug the wires, remove the sensor, and block the hole ... sounds like a plan to me

I found an oil pan gasket at my local NAPA ... looking at the pan still on the car, it appears to have a gasket
