I sent my RCM to DJ in Arizona I believe to have him refurbish it. I think he is currently charging $50-$60 plus shipping cost and he replaces all of the relays and does the horn modification. It seems like a good idea to keep a spare RCM on hand for emergencies and easy troubleshooting.

if the engine cranks but does not start it is generally either a fuel or electrical issue so it’s probably best to start with the basics rather than jumping to the most expensive issue that it could be. Ours was only having problems starting when warm and it would crank for a long time and sometimes require two attempts before starting. This was because it was not maintaining fuel pressure when the engine was turned off and was fixed by replacing the fuel pump. I think the crankshaft position sensors are on sale from FCP euro right now for $29 with a lifetime warranty . I would recommend to anyone who does not have a spare that they order one. I think you need an 8 mm external torx socket and extension for installation. It is a bit difficult to get to but with patients anyone can do it. The camshaft position sensor is right up front and easy to get to and that would be another part to keep on hand.
