Minnesota X-fires
I don't know if anything has been decided for the location for the get together on Sunday but to make a suggestion. The Lookout Bar and Grill is a good establishment with lots of parking area. Let me know if anyone likes this idea or if other decisions have been made.
Thanks for the suggestion Dwight. I was trying to research possible locations in Maple Grove and a Google search showed that car shows had been held at the lookout bar and Grill as well as the Town Green. Since I don’t have personal experience with either location I tried reaching out two people from the area for suggestions. If you’ve been there and think the lookout would be a good place to meet that’s good enough for me. It will be closer for the people coming from Saint cloud then either purgatory Park or Como Park would be and closer for you and Ron than purgatory park in Minnetonka.
if there are no objections I am officially declaring we will meet at 2 PM Sunday, August 1 at the lookout bar and Grill in Maple Grove. The address is: 8672 Pine View Ln. N.

I reached out to management yesterday at the Lookout and they were interested in knowing if we would be ordering food/drinks and how many people would be coming. I mentioned 6-10 cars. If you have any better estimate on # of cars and thoughts about the f/d I can send them another email to give them a heads-up.
Based on those who responded either here or in text or private messages I think we can expect five or six cars. It would be great if we had a bigger turn out via lurkers or Word of mouth but I think they’re expecting more than six cars is optimistic. Whether to order food and drinks would be decided on an individual basis but I don’t think that our group would put an undue strain on there normal staff. Personally I think I would prefer to stay near the cars so we can check them out and anyone arriving A bit late would know where to gather.
I stopped by The Lookout today and asked the Management to block off an area for 6-10 cars for us for tomorrow. They said they would. They asked if we wanted a table reserved inside for us and I told them no based on our previous conv. I know they would appreciate some patronizing for their efforts. I just thought that it would be better if we were all parked together rather than helter skelter throughout the lot. Hope to see everyone tomorrow!
Thanks for your effort, Dwight! The reserved parking will be really helpful and I’m sure at least some of our group will end up getting food or drinks but I wouldn’t want to tie up a couple of their tables for a good part of the day. This get together will be a learning experience for me at least and should inform us on what preparation should be made for future events.
Shakopee mn. I am having problems with my 2005 cross fire not starting. I have replaced the SKREEM and checked out the ECU for bad sodder joints . The car will try to start twice and than nothing. Do you know of a qualified mechanic for a cross fire in Mn.?
I don’t know if a mechanic to recommend it’s been a while since I read up on no start issues so I don’t remember which symptoms are related with which parts. I know that crankshaft and camshaft position sensors can be problematic as well as the relay control module. I had my RCM rebuilt and put in new sensors before I had a problem and keep the originals as spares. I did have a warm starting issue which was caused by a failed check valve in the fuel pump.
I would check the relay module for bad solder joints. I had starting problems before and had to repair this unit because of cold/cracked solder joints arounfdthe large relay pins.
Good soldering skills, of course, will ensure a successful repair.

I sent my RCM to DJ in Arizona I believe to have him refurbish it. I think he is currently charging $50-$60 plus shipping cost and he replaces all of the relays and does the horn modification. It seems like a good idea to keep a spare RCM on hand for emergencies and easy troubleshooting.
if the engine cranks but does not start it is generally either a fuel or electrical issue so it’s probably best to start with the basics rather than jumping to the most expensive issue that it could be. Ours was only having problems starting when warm and it would crank for a long time and sometimes require two attempts before starting. This was because it was not maintaining fuel pressure when the engine was turned off and was fixed by replacing the fuel pump. I think the crankshaft position sensors are on sale from FCP euro right now for $29 with a lifetime warranty . I would recommend to anyone who does not have a spare that they order one. I think you need an 8 mm external torx socket and extension for installation. It is a bit difficult to get to but with patients anyone can do it. The camshaft position sensor is right up front and easy to get to and that would be another part to keep on hand.

Hi everyone
I found this forum because I'm considering buying an SRT6 and live in Woodbury. I like the idea of a black coupe. Any thoughts on how much to pay for a low mileage well maintained car?
Any help on what to look for would be greatly appreciated.

It depends on what you consider to be low mileage. I haven’t been following SRT prices recently, but I had seen a couple of black SRT six co-pays for sale in the area at what seemed like decent prices in the last year or two. My advice is to get the best example you can find Because it will almost always cost more to recondition one that has issues or was not well taken care of Dan what it would cost to just pay more for one in better condition from the beginning.
