please stop this man
Cross
You've got another... oh, never mind.
What ARE you talking about???? You said: 2 seaters don't sell, no matter who makes them. When shown you're wrong, you start adding all kinds of new 'rules' and phony numbers. Miatas don't sell? Porsches don't sell? Where did you say all the 2 seaters you were talking about had to be in the same 'class?' In other words, Huh?
I'm still the same person, Cross. It's a shame that folks get angry at us when we have some legitimate gripes with this car. The shoving elevates to this, and I apologize for my share in it...to you and everyone else.
But please, don't diminish our concerns with name calling or pointless numbers games. We bought these cars, and while no car has all the problems, many have some of the problems. Combine that with spotty (and I'm NOT including your dealership) dealer service, as well as falling retail prices, and reasonable folks have good reason to be disappointed overall.
Feel free to disagree, I'm envious of folks who've had few or no problems, and feel sorry for those who've had big problems. But it's not fair to tell us our thinking is wrong. It's also not accurate.
Wes is right, we can opt out, and some of us are. Getting to this point was a slow process, and for me the last straw was the announcement of Crossfire Light and now new cars selling for under $28K in my market. $7,000 is not the same as Dave Burns' airline ticket example. Not the same at all.
I agree resale isn't everything, but it IS something, and the math has gotten to the point where I'm opting out. Ok?
And you're VERY right, there will be lots of problems with the Lotus, which stands for Lots of Trouble, Usually Serious. It's also very ugly.
