2005 grey Srt-6 roadster here. In late 2017 after a major life changing medical event I decided to make my crossfire ‘modernization’ my pet project. It was getting old. So little tech. Crappy headlights. And then the water pump and pully exploaded. Replaced all pulleys, belts, plugs, flushed all fluids, replaced crap chrome wheels with sleek black ones and top of the line tires, new calipers, custom toe/camber kits to fix ancient alignment issues, repainted a few panels from bubbling and other issues, fixed the gas door leak (the freken drain tube was installed twisted and crimped) , fixed the wiper to fan blower leak, 2nd voltage regulator, replaced door lock vac pump and added drainage holes, upgraded the fan, new 1500 watt amp, new speakers, addtl tweeters, two subs, 7 inch articulating touch screen, stop teck rotors and pads, a few usb power runs for a few cameras, …. I did a ton, god I love this car but it’s going to bankrupt me.

while it was making its rounds to various shops, I rented a 2014 toyota rav 4 blue, for about 5 months. Omg, compare the crossfire to this… huge space inside, super nice touch display stereo, great sound system, radar cruise control with near auto pilot, I had the rental so long that I replaced the headlights with the xenon hid 7500k ones to test which color set / temperature I wanted for the crossfire. The xenon ones light up the road for miles turning every reflective surface into a tron esk scene. Basically everything that made me feel cramped, low tech, or blind, the rav 4 was the opposite.

I was mostly done and then the dredded key won’t turn lock problem hit and covid hit, so the car sat, covered, in the garage till a few weeks ago. Broke it out. Went to war with the driver side panels and ignition, got a new dremel and drilled the pin, got the device out and fixed. Yeah! Now due to rust and sitting, new breaks, new rotors, new front calipers, camshaft pos sensor, new battery, new alternator, stereo amp got water dmg and fried, swapped it out…. I’m still limping with the lights for abs, bas/esp due to the left front speed sensor died, and streering wheel position sensor died, right high beam xenon blew (pita to swap), gotta refix leak from wipers to fan / stereo amp area, …. Yet I have driven 600 miles in 3 days just doing midnight laps around north NJ. Love this car!

The crossfire is the car that when your doing 89 in a 65 on the highway at 1am, and a cop pulls up next to you, oops, you look over, and they give you the thumbs up and they drive off. Especially when the cabin of the car now looks like a computer datacenter with all the dash cams, mirror cam, stereo screen, phone, etc..
