New to me SRT6 Roadster
I just purchased a 2005 SRT6 Roadster from Saraland Al. I had an auto inspector check the car our for me and for the mileage and condition of the car i purchased on 03/15/2022. Kust arrived in Riverview Fl yesterday. I have already flushed the coolants and replaced the oil and filter. Tomorrow, I will purge the brakes and replace the fluid. Then i will start to look at what's the problem with the convertable top rapid blinking light.. Its new home.
I have had mine for a long time now. This car still makes me smile. It’s a great fit for me. If I had to buy another car today I don’t know what it would be. Honestly I wouldn’t mind owning another srt6……

Welcome to the Crossfire SRT6 family of owners. You've taken steps to assure proper operating conditions. There is a tremendous amount of information by using the SEARCH button at the top of the 1st page.

Thanks cowancom3 for the info, I just looked up shops that worked on convertible tops in this area, and that was the one I picked if I can't get it sorted out. I will dig into the hydraulics this weekend. Just sent the rims out to Outlaw Rims in Gibsonton to have them reconditioned and powder coated and new tires. Purged the brake fluid that was "green" and painted the calipers. I'm going to check all of the wiring to make sure everything has good connections and there are not any power issues to the convertible top. I don't think this top has been down in 3-4 years. There doesn't seem to be any water intrusion in the trunk area, I haven't peeled back the carpet yet to see what condition the solenoid and all of the components for the top. I take it your in the Tampa bay area?
FYI: Check in the trunk that the "divider" pannel is secured properly. This may take releasing it and securing it back properly again and again to make the beeping stop and the top might operate. The beeping is a warning that this divider is not secured.
I found out by trial and error that not only does the trunk divider have to be properly secured but the trunk lid must be fully down and latched. In engineering this car the Germans had all manner of safety systems to prevent incorrect operation.
Other items you may wish to address are the sticky key issue and the trunk interlock. I do not know the precise fixes for each of these as my car was modified at The Crossfires In The Ozarks event by Zach Joslyn and Bob McCibben a couple years ago.
As I understand it, there is a spring loaded plunger in the ignition switch that is part of an antitheft system. The spring breaks and the plunger prevents removing the key and the car will not start. Zach tells me that a new switch costs about $ 1,000.
The trunk interlock is a device that prevents opening the trunk if the top is in its operating cycle, either up or down, as the rear wing and top mechanism can foul one another. There is a plastic part in the system that breaks and prevents opening the trunk. Removal of the part removes that safety system but I do not see that I will be having the situation of opening the trunk while cycling the top.
Both modifications do not affect the normal operation of the car.

Yes, when working on the top sometimes the trunk inner lock will engage and prevent you from opening it. I have become a champ at using a long screwdriver to move the bellows to allow the trunk to open again. I have the tope working about 3/4 of the way there seems to be some synchronize issues with the tonneau cover and the rear bow for the top. then i have to wait 7 minuets for everything to release to manually finish.....
Check both fuse locations as that’s usually where most anyone that’s been on the forum that’s done the sticky key fix will have put the documentation as being done. Usually the fuse box in the car to the left of the dash, that’s where I’ve put mine even though I’ll never sell mine.
while it was making its rounds to various shops, I rented a 2014 toyota rav 4 blue, for about 5 months. Omg, compare the crossfire to this… huge space inside, super nice touch display stereo, great sound system, radar cruise control with near auto pilot, I had the rental so long that I replaced the headlights with the xenon hid 7500k ones to test which color set / temperature I wanted for the crossfire. The xenon ones light up the road for miles turning every reflective surface into a tron esk scene. Basically everything that made me feel cramped, low tech, or blind, the rav 4 was the opposite.
I was mostly done and then the dredded key won’t turn lock problem hit and covid hit, so the car sat, covered, in the garage till a few weeks ago. Broke it out. Went to war with the driver side panels and ignition, got a new dremel and drilled the pin, got the device out and fixed. Yeah! Now due to rust and sitting, new breaks, new rotors, new front calipers, camshaft pos sensor, new battery, new alternator, stereo amp got water dmg and fried, swapped it out…. I’m still limping with the lights for abs, bas/esp due to the left front speed sensor died, and streering wheel position sensor died, right high beam xenon blew (pita to swap), gotta refix leak from wipers to fan / stereo amp area, …. Yet I have driven 600 miles in 3 days just doing midnight laps around north NJ. Love this car!
The crossfire is the car that when your doing 89 in a 65 on the highway at 1am, and a cop pulls up next to you, oops, you look over, and they give you the thumbs up and they drive off. Especially when the cabin of the car now looks like a computer datacenter with all the dash cams, mirror cam, stereo screen, phone, etc..
