Here is my thread "Trunk Lid Jammed" back when I did not realize there was an electric trunk lock tied to the top controller:

There are two ways of opening the trunk when is it locked.
1) Using a credit card or other device, pry the driver's side tag light out, use my method of a steel coathanger from the "jammed" thread above, shaped to form a j-hook, to snag the emergency release (and ignore my advice in that thread to disable the emergency release, I no longer believe in that).
2) Using a credit card or other device, pry the passenger side tag light out, (the screws in the lens only hold the lens in, the actual assembly just snaps in) and use a screwdriver to manually move the arm in there that pops the trunk open.
