I do not think you will be able to make the glass clear enough to be of any use.
I think the part could be fabricated used Lexan, maybe two or more pieces shaped and fitted together.
Machined faces can be sanded down, then the surface is heated lightly with a propane torch. This melts the surface slightly and it comes out shiny and translucent.
I also think headlight lenses could be made the same way.
