I had to read this again and yes that what happens when someone uses a copy/paste procedure. I do try doing a manual operation just to keep my memory fresh and also have a printed copy of the operation and 6mm hex wrench in the car at all times.


I have found one other item that bit me in the behind in the manual.
Cooling Service Info, Sec:7-17, Torq Specs, last two items. WP M6 bolts 10N-m, M8 bolts 35N-m.

WP Install, Sec: 7-64, Step 3, tighten WP bolts to 35N-m.

My feeling was that there was a lot of torq for such a small bolt (the M6 bolts) and two bolts snapped off. I had to rent a trailer and take the XF over to the mechanic to extract them. Lucky he's a good mechanic and had them out in less than 5 minutes. Took him longer to set up than it did to remove the bolts.
