When I purchased my car I found one of the fobs looking brand new and the other one looked the worse for wear. I decided to get a new empty fob and put the guts in the.bad looking one into a new case, which I did.
A thread had been posted on how to do it safely, others tried to do the same and either forgot or lost the chip. Others managed to ruin the board that controls the locks.
I keep the perfectly new fob safely tucked away and use the reworked one exclusively, some time back NWings offered the SKREEMs on sale so I got one of those.
