Do a search with Google on top/trunk issues. If the cycle did not complete when the top was last put up or down, the trunk is locked with the top-controller-operated electric lock. This is a lock most of us have disabled, because you CAN NOT open the trunk if the cycle does not complete. One way to PERHAPS make the PTCM unlock the trunk (never worked for me but it does for some) is to start the engine and press and hood the top button in either the RAISE or LOWER position (if top is up, press RAISE, if top is down press LOWER) for about 10, 20 seconds, I cannot remember how long. If you listen CLOSELY you might be able to hear the cam move. If that does not do it, you must remove the passenger side tag light assembly (it pops out, DO NOT remove the lens screws) and press on the cam with a screwdriver and pop the trunk.
