You can not yank the module from another car without using the STAR or Emulator PC to initialize it. Also, 04-06s use one module, the 07-08s use another.

Pull the fuse (#3) for the airbag light and forget it.
Mine is an 07, I simply pulled the fuse after finally finding out that my module is not the same as the 05's that a lady sent me for free (she was nice enough to send me one from her junked car for free, in return for work I did for her.)

If you sell the car, simply be honest and tell the buyer that the airbags are disabled and if they want them to work, they can spend the $2300 at a dealer to get them fixed. (Assuming the dealer can get a module, which I'm pretty sure they can't.)
