It must be a leak and some have suggested the seal around where the pump wires feed into the tank. I don't know where to look for that.
Center, top of tank. In Roadsters, it's exposed when putting the top up or down.
I've never owned a coupe, I'd assume you tear the trim out of the trunk area and there it is.
