Should have posted this before but forgot. When I bought my 05 roadster the plastic inserts that hold the plate on were stripped.
drilled them out a little bit with a step bit to make a round hole. Then drilled to the correct size for a Riv-nut. Put some kind of paint on the raw edge, maybe a paint market.
Installed and rattle free!!
Hopefully this posting is not too old. I hate creating new threads when others can find these easier.
I think you're talking about the rear plate. I was considering rivet nuts, but I wanted to see what others thought about that solution.
If I go this route, should I use rivet nuts for all four places, or judt the existing holes.
Also, does anyone know how much clearance there is behind the rear license plate mounting location? I certainly would not want to drill into anything or make a hole I couldn't use.
