They also should be all recognized with citations (IMHO), but many were not. What really pissed me off was the number of career enlisted who copped the 'conscientious objector' BS when called to serve in theater 'Desert Shield/Storm'. Two, three, & four term E5/E6's. These ppl swore to go every reenlistment, and copped out when asked to do what they signed up to do. All the ones I heard about from my base, were either transferred out to another base or allowed to serve on base. The ones I know about, were given Honorable discharges.... IMHO they should have been BC discharged as a minimum or sent to Leavenworth KS for defrauding the DOD & country, & made to pay back all the pay/benefits. We were pregnant when I went, had a boy (with complications) while I was there. Sorry, not sorry, for my opinion!
