I took my car out to an old Nike Missile base near me. The part of the base I was at was where they had the radar tracking station. This is located at Riker Hill park in Livingston, NJ.
The actual missiles were located about 2 miles away. Most of the buildings are still there and two of the concrete bases for the radar tracking units are still standing.
It's now an art park where people can learn how to paint, sculpt, etc...
The first picture has one of the tower bases i the background.
The second is of some metal sculptures that were used in the Livingston Mall from the 1980's through the mid 2000's.

Thank you, for sharing the history of this once necessary defense location (which has since been outdated). The public/society needs to know the history and dedication of the people who took it upon themselves to stand guard with determination to stay the dominance of the world through sites like this. Everyone should thank a Veteran, unless you wish or wished to live in fear under a society alien to our own.
