I have a 2005 SRT roadster and was drivinr to get it smogged and was a block away when it threw 0442 code. My fan selector switch went out a few days ago. Followed sticky note including checked fuses and replaced the
Blower Motor Resistor Regulator still nothing. Also the engine fan started coming on within a couple minutes and stays on.

My guess would be the RCM. Especially with the fan coming on. Try turning the car to on (don't start it) wait for 45 seconds and see if the fan runs at high speed. That would indicate a bad RCM.
Another possibility with 0442 code could be the gas cap. Have you fueled up recently?
