You can determine which wheel/sensor it is if you can scan the car with a good diagnostic tool that goes beyond OB II and can get into the manufactures codes. The car should scan as a Mercedes 2003 SLK 320 if it is not a STR6 supercharged model: if it is supercharged you can scan it as a 2003 Mercedes SLK32. Both are on the Mercedes R170 platform.
Wheel speed senors are not too expensive, but they are specific as to which wheel they fit on. Enjoy the ride.
Thanks for the fast reply and since then I have been told that the belt driven water pump is out of line and also because it's supposed to be all on the same line having the thing replacing should sort out a couple of other things such as tapping sound on idle but then I get told that the ABS ring needs to be replaced as abs light is on, I am not a mechanic at all so with speedometer not working and spoiler up I am just a little bit concerned, she drives like a dream I swear and it's manual so if I have a fool up the back end of the car they're just a distant memory in a couple of seconds as it is a very quick car, I am just truly in a panic that there's more wrong than I thought and now the CD player won't load. Any pointers you could give me I couldn't even explain how grateful I would be and apologise for being so mechanically lacking in knowledge but I learn extremely fast. Please if you get a chance I hope you can read through my message. Respect.
