Radio is BAAAAAACK! This morning I got ready to delve into the crazy radio failure I experienced. The radio 'F/W' reset was the first thing I tried. But before going out to the car in the garage, I looked over the schematics & troubleshooting steps in the 2008 service manual set I purchased loooong ago. I was ready to do this work with a plan. 1st, I tried the 'F/W reset just opening the door and hitting (holding) the 'opt' and buttons 1 & 3. That did not work. I then put the key in the iggy, turned to 'on' position (not started) and hit 'opt' and buttons 1 & 3. After @ 2-3 seconds the radio 'whirred' (prob the CD drive) and that was something I was interested in. I hit the 'on' button, and the radio came to life. Thank you, John, for remembering/finding that post from Jan 2006, linking it, and mentioning post #2 from member RowdyRoadster).

Even though I was online again, I had mentioned I reviewed the schematics/troubleshooting in the 08 service manuals. I was prepared to remove the NEG cable (always needed because the siren will screech if the POS cable is removed before the NEG cable). I also was ready to pull/check (for the 08 model year) fuses #5 & 8 for the radio & fuse #23 for the amp. I was also ready to check the fuse at the rear of the radio before reconnecting the NEG battery cable. I was ready for this so that I could also check the pinouts (although I was confident power was at all three terminals but not sure if the voltage was sufficient to meet the minimum rqmts of the service manual's troubleshooting steps. After the F/W reset brought back the radio to life, I was done (but ready to ultimately determine if the radio was kaput-sky)

I listed these steps for anyone else who wanted to refresh their steps for using the 2008 service manual set after trying the F/W reset noted in the post listed. As I understand it, the 04-07 fuse listing is different & I am not sure the same troubleshooting steps would be the same as listed in the 08 manual.
