Awesome. I'd LOVE to have a set of those.

Thank you for all the positive feedback

I’ve completed 6 caps and have 3 more to do

the first 6 all look as close to new as is physically possible

800 km cross country today
It’s a bug murder zone.

Highways are a gift that creat a positive mindset.

Ever time I stopped for fuel (I have a heavy foot, so it was often) someone came over to ask about the car and were surprised it was chrysler.

Grandpa burger anyone ?

Time to invest in a SRT6 Bra to avoid these bug attacks on the paint. Much easier to debug/clean the bra, than cleaning the paint. BTW, the center caps look great on your wheels.
Enjoy your Crossfire....

Thanks Dennis
I have the OEM SRT bra without license plate opening
I found that it rubbed on the paint where the clips attached at the wheel well and I didn’t use it this trip because I plan to paint the bumper and wing later this month.

the bumper takes a ton of abuse on the road.

I’ll be painting the bumper that’s on the car and a new spare so that next time I can just swap it out when I need too.

Took Freya to the local indy import shop for an oil change. Turns out after all they did not order the Mann filter and did not have the correct oil on hand. Since I had both because I originally intended to do the oil change myself, I brought the oil and filter to them. They've worked on SLKs and Crossfires before mine came along.
They pump the old oil out, put the new oil in, and I'm hoping I don't see the HI light come on when I pick her up.
Mileage is just under 30,000. Bought her at 17,787, she had fresh oil in her, and it was suggested to do this oil change now, about 30K miles.
Freya's been running fine. No codes, no hiccups ... driver side window is about an 1/8 of an inch low, and this causes some wind noise when the top's up, but I'm not eager to open up the door panel to adjust it. Water doesn't leak at all, and I use noise-dampening ear plugs to take the edge of road noise. They are very helpful with wind and road noise when the top's down, too.
We'll take a little drive when we pick her up from the shop to see if we notice any difference.
Our neighbor from hell has been on a rampage the past couple of months, so I'm avoiding her weirdness by not working on the car in the carport right now.
UPDATE: While they had the car they checked hoses, fluids, brakes (10 mm and 8 mm, front and rear, wearing evenly), found no codes, cleared the oil service code, put the tire pressures at 32 front and 33 rear and noted the TPMS light was on. It turned off about a block from home, typical, no worries. Belts and hoses and wiper blades all fine. All this for ... $53.
Cheaper than any quick-change place. More thorough than any quick change place.
Support your local independent import shop!

You went 12,000 miles between oil changes?

Hi Peter,

I don't use the factory bra for my car very often, but what I ended up doing was applying two small pieces of clear vinyl paint protection on the areas where the straps attach to the bumper.

What was displayed on your FSS ?
It only should allow you to go about 7000 miles from when it was last set.
A minus (-) display must have appeared for quite awhile telling you service was long past due

If ya bought her with fresh oil at 17,787 your oil was due to be changed at 24,787 and that's the most miles you should go between Oil and Filter changes

Now why didn’t I think of that. I couldn’t see the forest for the trees.

This is a GREAT suggestion and super simple to apply. Thank you I really appreciate your solution and will apply that the the refinished bumper in a few weeks.

Clear bra and headlight covers: Lamin-x
I had the entire hood, windshield trim, rocker panels, side mirrors and the wing covered. Food for thought.

Bought this 87K mile ‘07 automatic roadster last Sunday. Bought it for $6500 and it came with two keys! 😊
LOF, filters, lowering springs, RCM and CPS, topped off hydraulic reservoir (took about 3 ounces), replaced the antenna and gasket, installed a bunch of LASFIT LED lights, new Bridgestone Potenza tires, alignment, and a 74mm throttle body. That’s it so far.

going to purchase a new top for it shortly.

Day 1

Looks fantastic! Good luck with your new car! OK, I have to ask, why the OE/BE wrench on the key ring?

What did I do to my XF today? Well, it seems I jinxed the radio, it died! Was cruising on a pretty smooth road, turned it on, it played a while, changed the station & was into a song, and when I tried to raise the volume it would not work. Continued driving trying a few buttons, absolutely nothing. After a minute or so, it shut off and seems to have flown to the big radio cemetery in the sky... No more NAV radio (and I hardly even used the radio/NAV either). When the weather cools down some and I feel like it, I'll pull the radio and check the fuse at the rear of the radio (I seem to remember one there before). Didn't act like a bum fuse though, that's why I am surrendering, based on the way it acted before it shut off.

There was a post on here that I saw and it worked for me.
I remember there are 2 fuses in the engine fuse box. Remove bot of them. Then disconnect the negative battery cable for 3 minutes. Then put the fuses back i and then connect then reconnect the negative cable. It should reset the radio.
If I can find the post, I'll put it here.
