Default Re: Air bag light on

I'll give this a try:
Did you know that a national recall on Takata air bags effected some Crossfires? You can run your VIN here to check your car National Recall BE SURE YOU READ DOWN THE PAGE BEFORE YOU ENTER YOUR VIN
Scan tools that will reset the SRS light are a DRB emulator ( there may be one available here on the forums market place) , or the original DRB III factory Chrysler scan tool. Maybe one percent of "Chrysler" dealers have that tool available so I highly doubt any dealer will be able to help scan your car. As a general rule do not go to a dealer for anything related to the Crossfire. They will likely charge you a huge sum of money and damage your car in the process.
Read this thread on more info on the air bag recall. It is a very long thread but much useful info to glean: Crossfire air bag recall
For help when necessary you can try an independent European garage that specializes in Mercedes. Your Crossfire will scan as a 2003 SLK 320 so they may be able to help. ASK first before spending your money.
And you would be helping yourself if you would place your location on your account info! Do not need to be specific, but something like SE Tennessee, or Lower AL. You may get lucky and a member who lives near you will reach out and help you with a good scan. Good Luck and welcome to the forum.
