Are your tips completely center like this ??
If they are even the slightest off center it will hit there.
I got new rubber hangers when I got mine and got it perfectly straight to create the clearance needed.
It think this can occasionally be an issue only on the Roadsters because the Coupes don't have that same brace there.
New OEM hangers can be bought from Needswngs.com
