Replacing positive starter cable
I've searched everywhere for someone who has experience replacing the positive battery cable. Here's the backstory: my car began emitting smoke through the vents, and the lights wouldn't turn off. Fearing a fire, I called the fire department, and they cut the battery cables. The car has been parked for 8 years, but at the 6-year mark, someone diagnosed the issue in a forum as a faulty light module, which was also causing my problem. Now, as I prepare the car for its first start in years, I realize that replacing the cable is not as straightforward as it is in most vehicles. I'm seeking any pointers or advice on this matter.
