I was test and tuning at Raceway Park in Indy. This is a track I always avoided because the best of best run there and run there constantly. Not a place to be for the faint of heart. You get your head handed to you. So, that day was interesting to say the least. I found very quickly my tires had hardened from sitting my reaction times still good, but I had to fight the car to keep it straight with no traction. I mean absolutely no traction. Just pour water on the track kind of thing. But guys. I ran against a lot of non-stock cars and a few stock cars. Stock cars meaning Mustangs, Camaros and a few others. Had I had drag radials the day would have been great. My take is I fell in love with my car again. Two ZL 1 Camaros were there and a few modified Mustangs. They came over to check out the 6 and we talked about the history, and they noticed I was battling traction so agreed to go from a running start. Even on a roll I broke traction and fought the car down the track and of course didn't win. But here is my take, I can run with those cars. Looking at reaction times and their times back in the day, when I built the coupe it was consistently pushing 11.7. Guess what the Camaros were running lol. I have new energy to bring the coupe and roadster back up to date and hit the track next summer. Solo's in roadster and drag racing the coupe. The 25-year-old cars are returning to the track to play. But this time I will be retired and focused on the fun. OH, I forgot to add this part, I will be running in a stock class with these guys. NHRA doesn't know these cars lol. I passed inspection with flying colors. Another reason I avoided Raceway Park.
Times and tuners have changed most VTech tuned cars are running 11.0 to 11.3 without nitrous and other tuners running 11.6 and up
