Yes, the fluid does not flow out through the upper filler opening, but somewhere to the side.
The first time I filled mine this happened to me.
I thought that I had a crack in the reservoir! LOL
But as Valk said, it has an overflow hole like a sink does. It comes out of the bottom of the fender.
