Windshield washer fluid tank is leaky...?
When I added windshield washer fluid to the tank in my car, at some point it started pouring onto the ground from somewhere in the wheel arch.
So I have a question, does this mean that the tank is leaky, or maybe the tank has something like a hole/drain above the 4 liter capacity ?

You will have to remove the fender liner and check the tank, filler tube and hoses.

Washer fluid will spill out the side before it will fill to the top
It can hold about 1 gallon and if you try to keep filling it at some point it will begin to spill in on the ground as you experienced
Most likely it's not a leak !!

@Valk Ah... Thank you.
Yes, the fluid does not flow out through the upper filler opening, but somewhere to the side.

I thought that I had a crack in the reservoir! LOL
But as Valk said, it has an overflow hole like a sink does. It comes out of the bottom of the fender.
@M60A3Driver Thanks for confirming Valk's diagnosis.
@Wadsworth I'll keep an eye on the tank next time I fill it up, but it's most likely as Valk and John wrote.

I'm a little late with my two cents but I thought I had this problem with my car when I first got it. So I ordered a new washer tank and went about installing said tank. It lives in the fender well behind your right front tire. The wheel well liner has to come out, I removed the right front wheel for more room. What I found is that there is a separate fill tube (what you see in the engine bay) that plugs into the actual reservoir. When you add enough fluid to reach that junction, excess fluid runs out at that joint as it is not sealed. My reservoir was fine, I just needed to learn not to try to fill all the way to the top of the fill tube.
