When the light comes on it will hold 1 gallon without leaking.

Probably nothing wrong with the tank. You can't tell when the tank is full until you see it leaking onto the ground and then most people think it's cracked. It says in the manual it will hold 1 full gallon after the low level light comes on and any more than that will leak.

I guess i should have "RTFB" (read the f#*&* book). I never waited for the light to come on, I would just add to it whenever I thought it might need it.

If in fact the Tank has a hairline line crack, and it was not subject to an over fill, here's an easy fix, rather than replacement.

Just get a Hot Glue Gun and run a bead of hot glue along the crack, and let it dry, cold to the touch.

In my Daughters Pontiac, I had a hole develop in her Radiator over flow Tank, due to vibration and wear against the mounting, along one corner.

I hit the hole with Hot Glue, re-installed the Tank, and it's been holding hot radiator fluid ever since.

I'm sure hot glue will work with a cold fluid Tank, no-problem-o...
