Commonly speaking, the restrictive total used in the intake air flow must not exceed the total of the designed airbox for an untuned engine, within reason, this is why I am asking the two Q's. I ask because I am curious as I do not nor have ever owned an SRT-6 (yet, if ever).

Obviously that added 'item' should not be there, and there should not be more than two filters in the intake air flow system (one each side).

Thanks for responding!

The filters are in the housings, not out in front of the radiator.

The left filter has a tube about 3/4" in diameter that connects to the top of the valve cover. PCV I'm assuming. No PCV valve. No other air can enter the filter housings except for the ~5" tubes that extend from each filter housing into the area beside the radiator on each side.

I'm waiting on a reply from the filter manufacturer for a cross reference as to the application of the charcoal filter that everyone keeps calling a cabin air filter.

I hope this answers your questions. Thank you for input.

In the photo below, you can see that I have pulled the right side air intake tube off of the filter housing. Normally it is connected.
