My Xfire has had extensive collision repair in the past that could have been less than thorough. Is there some kind of Styrofoam plug above the front wheel well and the top of the fender? Additionally, where are plastic plugs in the inner metal wheel wells in the rear?
A couple things came to mind: In the passenger footwell, where one's feet would be, pull back the carpet. First thing you should see is a large piece of styrofoam, behind that is the Transmisiion Control Module, the radio amplifier and a couple other mounted electric controls. You need to unscrew three plastic nuts. You should not see any light coming through. Above that area is the cabin air filter which you access through a plastic panel. Is the plastic panel there? If your car has cloth seats you have a "base"model and no cabin air filter. If your car has leather bolster on the seats or is the super charged SRT6 the cabin air filter should be there behind the plastic access.
