I'm in a large parking lot and when I came to pick up my SRT6, the fob will not operate the central lock system. I think the fob batteries are good. When I turn the key in ignition, the dash lights work, also radio and climate fans, but engine does not crank. A few times it started a relay that flashed the corner lights for a couple of minutes. Three or four attempts caused the engine to crank for about one second without catching.
I removed the RCM and looked at the solder connections. They look to be very bright and solid, but I have no way of checking.
No tools on hand, and I'm 165 miles from home.
Any advice?
Update: Tried one more time and it started and is running with a slow, rough idle, about 500 rpm.
Ideas welcome.
Should I try to make the drive home?
Go to an auto parts store and see if you can get a relay control module.
You don't need any tools to replace the RCM. Also, you don't have to disconnect the battery.
