Default Crossfire Sightings

I was staying at the Fairfield inn in Davenport Iowa this weekend. went to visit my daughter at school for family weekend. There was a red XF Roadster with Illinois LP in the parking lot. I was wondering if it belongs to a member.

I made note that on my drive there Friday night, I counted 5 Vettes, 2 Porsches, 10 mustangs, and '0' Crossfires.
On the way back I didn't see much of anything in terms of sport cars. I only saw 2 Vettes, 6 Mustangs, 1 TT, 0 Porches, and 0 Crossfires. I did see a ton of Mitsubishi Spider though.

I flew down to Atlanta, Georgia 3 weeks ago. To my utter shock and amazement, the Budget, Hertz, and National car rental lots were loaded with Crossfires. Lots of Coupes and Roadsters. They were obviously being rented as many of the vehicles I saw were in the return lanes. I took some photos from the National bus, but a I still can't post pictures to the forum you'll have to take my word for it. I never knew that the Roadster was available in Black...I thought that was a coupe and base color only.

I didn't ask what the daily rate was, but my VP says next time to travel we'll check out the Crossfire. At National they are kept in a row on after the Executive line...so I imagine they carry a daily premium.

No Atlanta isn't, but markr6754 is from Ohio, which is the midwest, except for purposes of this forum where it is considered the NE. All of which doesn't really mean a whole lot, just thought I'd put in my .02.

My first encounter with a Crossfire was in Tucson AZ, last Feb . We had reserved a Sebring convertible thru Enterprise 6 weeks earlier, but when we arrived at the airport none were available! Finally a manager appeared and said "BREAK OUT THE CROSSFIRE". To cut the story short we had a great time, for the same price as the Sebring and earned further discounts as our luggage would not fit in the trunk, my wife had to take a cab with the luggage (BOTH WAYS). We arrive home and spent several months trying to locate a Crossfire, and just as the snow arrived so did our convertible. Only 130 days till I can get out of the driveway.

Spotted a red limited coupe going north-bound on IL-53 and east-bound on Palatine Road. I was the blue SRT-6.

I still haven't spotted another SRT in the Chicagoland area...I'm all by myself, have only seen a few base/ limited (coupes and roadsters) in the past two years.

In Arlington, VA on business this week.
Saw an Aero Blue coupe w/Maryland tags around 8am this morning at corner of Wilson and N. Lynn. Anyone on this forum.

Also, at about 9am, saw an Silver Sapphire roadster near the same area.

I think everyone here drives a Mini. They are EVERYWHERE.
If people aren't driving Minis, they are driving BMW 3 series convertibles.

Stayed at the Marriott's Residence Inn San Diego last night, off 163. A silver/blue roadster was parked in the lot.

Anyone here?

I've seen a blue SRT coupe in Huntley off Randall, a blue Limited roadster in Downers at Finley and RT34, a black Limited Coupe on several occasions Northbound 355 at Maple, and a black Limited Coupe on RT59 in Naperville with some kinda dog name vanity plate. These sightings in the last 3 mos.
I'm usually up and down 355 Mon.-Fri., when it's not snowing. Mine is my daily driver.

I'm in Livonia, MI today. Got passed by a SSB coupe this morning around 7:15 am around Fenton, MI on 23 South (I think, could have been when I was on I-96 East). Was in my Accord, not my SRT6. Anybody on the forum?

FP - After reading your thread, as we were going to Huntley Sat., I told my kids to count the different sports cars we see, and how I never really see any Xfires. Just as I said this we, spotted a Red coupe southbound 355, then saw two more eastbound I90; a SSB roadster, and black limited! Go figure. Of course we also saw SEVEN(7) Porsches! Two Carreas, one 944, four Boxsters. Also saw one mean, tricked out, blue RX8. Too cool.

Cool Re: Crossfire Sightings

I spent a week in Ireland for Spring break (April 3-10, 2007), rented a Toyota Aventis (sp?) from Hertz. While standing at the counter filling out the paperwork my son pointed out Crossfires (right hand drive of course) available for rent. I asked the guy what they where renting for and he said 170 euros a day (about $210/day). Pretty pricey since my Aventis was 175 Euors for 5 days. Saw only one Xfire being driven the whole time on the island.
