Default In regard to a lack of parts

I suggested this on the CICCI forum a few days ago we need as many people possible to get Chrysler's attention, they have been following us on twitter so they know we're out here.

I've sent Chrysler a couple of messages through fb twitter and the advisory board and got no reply's, I suggest everyone that has fb and/or twitter write something on their wall where everyone can see it maybe that will get them to respond.

Here is what I posted on the Chrysler Communication fb page.
And the Chrysler fb page. These are 2 diffrent pages but Chrysler Communication fb page is the one that Chrysler has been using of late and has a link to it from their advisory board.

Now that Chrysler "is a different company with a new alliance partner" I'm hoping to get a response to this question from someone at Chrysler. I'm one of the founding members of the Crossfire International Car Club Inc. CICCI. We started this club in Oct of 08 in a little over a year we have well over 250 members in 7 countries. Most of our members are also members of Crossfireforum.org with over19,900 members.
Just like many other Crossfire owners I've been a loyal Chrysler customer, in the last 5 years I have purchased 3 Chrysler products not to mention what I've owned in the past.
Our main concern right now is the lack of body parts for our Crossfires, with Karmann now closed we have a number of members that have been waiting months for parts.
We already feel that Chrysler has snubbed these cars before but we hope with the new Chrysler our concerns will now be heard....
I'm curious to know if any Pacifica owners are having the same issue with finding body parts for their vehicles?

I also asked everyone on CICCI fb page to do the same.

I was checking the Chrysler Communication fb page, I love that they can answer a question about which Fiat will be sold here in the States but totally avoid our concern.

We can't just post one time we need to post every day till they address our concerns.

I posted the following:
I find interesting is that you can answer a question about a car that
really isn't a Chrysler product but you avoid addressing a question or
concern of a number of Chrysler fans that have a Chrysler Crossfire.

The following is the response we got from Chrysler on the Chrysler Communication fb page.

1st. post:
Hello Mike and other Crossifire owners. I'm looking into it and I hope to have some answers/resources for you soon. Sorry about the delay.

1hr. later:
Crossfire owners, I asked around about the issues some of you have raised regarding parts. I think the best place to start would be with the new Brand Customer Care toll-free line for Chrysler, which is 800-CHRYSLER (800-247-9753). Again, apologies for the delay and I hope the folks operating those lines can help you with your specific parts needs. Please have your VIN and dealer info ready so they can assist you.

I'm sure we know where this will get us.

I've just gotten off the phone with Chrysler in regard to our lack of body parts. Spoke to a nice lady named Peggy who took down our complains. I read her some of the posts that were posted on here and fb. She said she understands our frustration and will forward our issue to their Senior Customer Development Dept. and has assigned us a case #. I was promised a call back tomorrow by 6:30pm est.
Stay tuned...

I was promised a call back by 6:30pm yesterday from Chrysler in regard to the lack of parts for the Crossfire as of today no call back, as soon as I get a chance I will call them back. I think we may have bought our last Chrysler product when we bought our 08 300c AWD in February 08. I think we all need to place calls to them, I'll post the # I used as soon as I get a chance it isn't the # found in the earlier post.

Out of curiosity after I called Chrysler I called the Chrysler dealer I bought my Crossfire from, they happen to be a distributor of Chrysler parts here in NY they said they can get most parts in a few days but no front bumpers, N/A or SRT on back order.

My first part I needed from Chrysler was not so easy to find, but once i paid Chrysler the $18 dollars to ask them anything, wha-La. they had a part number for me. The answer man said most parts are now MOPAR parts that you will replace the MB parts. I am new at this but, that is what I experienced.

The Mopar parts will be MB parts with a Chrysler label with their part number on it stuck over the MB part number. Chrysler will order the part from MB and sell it to you at a large mark up.
Naturally they want you to buy from them, buy the MB part when you can.

This is my first time here. My son suggested I try here for help. If I am posting wrong, please let me know.
I have a 2008 Crossfire. It has been in the shop for almost 6 weeks now waiting for a part that has apparently been discontinued. It is a trim piece that goes above the window and holds the rubber in place on the passenger side. I will have the part number shortly. Does anyone know where there may be any salvage cars with this part available?
Thanks in advance for your help.
Terry

Talk about a lack of parts, while at my friends shop to fix my bent exhaust I learned two things one getting a OEM exhaust is on indefinite back order, I also learned to replace the passenger door with a brand new OEM door, it cost over $5000... those facts make me want to lock my car in a vault

New vs. Old - I plan on buying another Crossfire to play with while retired. Should I look at a 2008 with low miles or 2004 with high miles. The reason I ask is the insurance total out rate for the Crossfire is extremely high. Is it the same for all Crossfires because of the sheet metal problem???

Junk yard parts are available but usually you are required to buy the whole car.

I noticed this company buys totaled Crossfires and resells to anybody that has the cash. I guess some young mechanic could start a used parts business for the Crossfire community.

East Coast Auto Source Quality Repairable Vehicles and Parts

I know any car I buy will be expendable in a fender bender but I would like to minimize my monetary loss.

Thanks for any advice.

Get your car and bring it home!!!...this forum can help you much faster and knowledgable than the Stealership...believe that!!.. you can find most anything, or where to get it, at a fraction of the dealer cost. The other thing about this Forum is , in most cases, someone can show you how to install it yourself......Carl

If that car is still in the stealership it has been there for a long time, that post is nearly three years old. I have done that before, now I check the post date.

Dave: I stand corrected...and your right, it would be the logical thing to do by checking the post date... now why didn't I think of that?...Carl

You're not alone. We all do it and eventually suffer the consequences.
