brake replacement
Re: brake replacement
Do you have a limited? I think the easiest/cheapest upgrade is to change them over to SRT-6 brakes. I do not know for sure, but I think all calipers are larger (I know the back are).
StopTech makes a kit as well that needswings sells: StopTech Big Brake Kit Front
If you are just hunting for brake pad recommendations, I have a limited and I am very happy with the Akebono Ceramic (less brake dust). I put Brembo blank rotors along with the pads and do not have any issues with the stopping power.

Re: brake replacement
I put EBC "Red Stuff" pads on 3 years ago and have not looked back. Very low dust, little wear, no noise and stops on a dime.
( also the backing plates are red, which matches my red painted calipers )

Thanks for the link! I also have red calipers and this is a good option for pads. The link was to another version...not for an 04 crossfire at least.
For the 2004's like mine this is the model you want for the Redstuff. EBC Brakes DP31075C Redstuff Ceramic Low Dust Brake Pad..
and link.
Re: brake replacement
Yes, I don't know what brand were installed when I bought the car, but the front wheels would stay clean for about 2-3 days before being covered. I read an older thread on here and everyone recommended ceramic brake pads to reduce/eliminate brake dust. This is the first vehicle I have used ceramic pads on - but it made a huge difference. I rarely go longer than 7 days without washing my car, but you notice the body getting dirty before the wheels now.
Re: brake replacement
Any premium ceramic will be low-dust and stop well. You might have some chatter though. You can buy solid rotors or, if you like the looks, slotted and/or drilled. Google is your friend. I went with standard solid when I replaced them on my SRT6. It is not worth swapping in a high performance kit unless you are seriously racing. Good rotors and pads will more than stop you. If you want fancy, paint the rotors.
Yes, it seems all German cars spit more brake dust on the fronts than the rears. That's why I always swap out stock for low-dust. Even did it when I bought my 2011 A4 2.0T used, which had brand new pads all around. Out they went for Disc-Italia.

Re: brake replacement
Anyone try the new Disc Italia Titanium Kelvar pads? Have a 2004 stick with 43K and I think its time for new pads and rotor turning. It will be either these, their ceramic ones or the Red Stuff pads. I'm thinking the Kelvar may have more stopping power but harder on the rotors.
I have the EBC Redstuff on my SLK32 and Greeenstuff on my daily. They are my favorite brake pads I have ever owned. I am very picky about brake pads too. The Redstuff pads squeak sometimes under light pressure when cold. The friction level is very high across a very broad range of temperatures.
