Overheating
Hey all,
I bought an 04 base crossfire a few months ago to find it was overheating in traffic. After searching these forums I checked the fuses and on discovering they were fine, tested the fan which is working perfectly, and then ordered a replacement fan control module. After fitting this I thought my problems would be over but still the fan is not switching on when the engine begins to get past normal operating temperature and does not switch on when I turn the A/C on as it is supposed to.
I'm guessing this means the problem is somewhere deeper?
Anyone experienced this or has any ideas?
Thanks, Chris.

Unplug the MAF sensor and see if it kicks on. It should come on full speed if not then it's an issue with the relay powering the fans. If it kicks on then maybe its the thermostat.
To the best of my knowledge, there is NO relay powering the fan.
The fan control module supplies a voltage level to the fan as determined by the PWM ( pulse width modulation ) signal from the PCM ( powertrain control module )
