Default my new perspective.

I recently acquired the same make and model car I bought when I was 16 in 1956. I am now doing a major restoration. I don't need it because of my Crossfires. It is an interesting comparison. The P15 Plymouth was the most produced car in post war U.S. They made 1.9 million of them. My SRT6 roadster is one of 900. Both sold by Chrysler. I now have my First and last car......Gary...

I wish I had one of my first cars. It was a triple black 1971 Firebird Formula 400 4 speed. Good luck with the project. It looks rust free from the front.

I have reworked the body. I replaced front fenders, grille and lights. Lights are now led. This is how it was..

My first car, in 1960 was a 1939 Ford businessman's Coupe. We brought it home in much the same condition as your picture in post #3.

I was 13 at the time.

I spent two years learning how to work on every part of that car and rebuilding it. We had a donor car for parts.

Because of the war, a '47 thru '51 Chrysler was nearly the same as a 1940 model. Under the skin, so was a late forties Ford much the same as a '39. That made it easy. So did the fact that back then things were built to be repaired and last. Some Bakelite parts, but virtually no plastics.

You are looking very good on that Chrysler Sedan.

Very cool car! I would love to get my hands on one with a decent body to throw a smooth modern drivetrain under so I could cruise in it.
