Now it needs a nice set of wheels....

That's a color I never thought of for a Crossfire, but that looks really cool.
I think it's great when somebody takes a chance on something, and it all works out.
I hope it sells for a good price.

I like that color too. James is right about the wheels, could be a real stunner.

I'm picking it up next week in Tucson, and heading straight to the tire store for new rubber. Then I'll drive it home (~975 miles) to N. Calif. I like adventures apparently.
I'll let you guys and gals know how it works out.

ROADTRIP !!!!
Best of luck on your journey, and congrats on the purchase of that beauty.
Funny thing : I drove 85 miles to see the roadster I bought because the dealer listed it as "Burgandy".
I even called the dealer and he personally told me it was burgandy.
I think half of people are color blind.

I have bought nine vehicles on E-bay, including three Crossfires.

Not every recovery trip was flawless however, all of them were fun adventures. It is a state of mind.

Have a good trip.

BTW, this recollection is rumored to be just a fable. But, it was my favorite recovery. And yes, it was in a Crossfire....Of Course it was!

Thank you gents. Great story Franc, you have a way with words.
My journey will be mostly long, straight freeway miles, so minimal shifting. I'll take a few pictures for the scrapbook...
Stay tuned.

I think the color will grow on me.
Funny thing; the last eBay car I bought was a burgundy TR-6 10 years ago, and driven the other way, CA to AZ.
For my trip home in the Crossfire, I'm bringing:
-extra serp. belt
-CPS
-coolant (pre-mixed stuff)
-oil
-fuses
-assorted tools
-AAA card
I'm allowing several days for this, so won't NEED to rush. Can you guys think of anything else I've obviously missed?
Thanks again for the great forum, I hope to contribute something of worth someday.
J

This car in this color would look so cool with a camel color interior...

Thanks ala, I'll add those items to my list.
For that last item, perhaps she's a factory trained Mercedes technician?
