'05 Crossfire in Consumer Reports
Just got done reading the April 2014 issue of Consumer Reports (Annual Auto issue) and saw that the 2005 Crossfire made it to the "Used cars to avoid" list (Pg 88). According to CR to be included on this list, the models have to have a record of below-average overall reliability. Did CR forget that the 2004-2008 Crossfire remained mechanically the same (correct me if I'm wrong) during its run?
I have owned my '04 for over 4 yrs and it's one of the most reliable cars I've owned. Just regular maintenance. I think CR needs to add a section called "Perma- Grin Club" and see the Crossfire at the top. JMHO

Same here. In 101,000 miles, my issues have been: Steering stabilizer, Crank Sensor, locked up ignition cylinder, Battery Cable and a few bulbs.
*Yawn*

Maybe they got their info from the so called Chrysler Crossfire Tech's that don't have a clue how to fix the simple problems they are brought in for to fix.
Makes one question how accurate is ConsumerReports. They don't even mention if it's the Limited or SRT. Big difference.
Oh it's horrible, the agony I've had to endure.
Maybe this'll lower resale prices so I can ****** up a second Crossfire, lol.

I hope so. I've been wanting an SRT also. Maybe CR will do an article on how problematic the SRT is.
I just looked at the CR top 20 worse cars, and didn't see a Crossfire. Here is their list.

I don't want to argue but this, " News article: Top 20 Used Cars to Avoid: Consumer Reports - AutoGuide.com News" is the title of the list I gave.

No need for arguement. These reviews were from critics who never really drove the Crossfire. if they drove the Crossfire, they often compared it to its Mercedes twin. Because this is a Chrysler, critics often turned up their noses and scoffed at the mere idea of a $40,000 Chrysler. They never really gave this car a chance. I believe this car was way ahead of its time. If the Crossfire were to debut today with all the accoutrements and technology of today's luxo-sports cars, it would receive rave reviews.
I love the look of the car and the looks I get while Im driving it. My opinion of the car is the only thing that matters.

What does consumers report know...their "critic" person probably hasn't ever driven a Crossfire...(probably owns a Civic)... I'm 75 years young and over the years I've own lots of cars...The Crossfire is the most aesthetic of the lot... I vote for the Crossfire!!!
you want an SRT6 review. I have two. One with just under 30K, one just over 30K. I have put a CPS, AIT sensor and steering stabilizer on one, and nothing on the other. I have added countless go fast parts, and nothing wrong. I haven't had to work on the dreaded RCM yet but soon will. Preventive maintenance in this case. I quit buying the CR rag a long time ago. My consumer report on them, is, it's waste of money to buy, and waste of time to read.
