So I have read a lot about the Mercedes crossfire relationship. I own a 2005 crossfire that I bought used. On the front and back it has the Mercedes emblem. I bought this car used. Is that factory or something the original owner did?

 

The previous owner did it. There is no Mercedes badging on the car at all. But if you look under the hood at the belt or fluid covers you'll find evidence of Mercedes on the stampings. Unless it's an SRT6 - then the AMG kind of jumps out at you.

 

If you look at the majority of parts on the car you will find the Mercedes logo and their part number.
This is really nice as you will find that buying the part using the Mercedes part number will save you a lot of money.

Parts stamped AMG carry a Mercedes part number but lack the Mercedes Logo.

Parts specifically made for the Crossfire carry a Mercedes parts number and possibly they will appear later on a Mercedes model. There are not too many of them though. These Crossfire specific parts are identified with a number that starts A 193 XXX XX XX.
