Default Cup holder ver 35,155

Well since this forum has 35,155 members and everyone has their own version, you know where I'm going with the version number

I like it and has passed the speed bump and railroad track tests. Don't know if it will hold a super guzzler four pound drink or not.

Pep boys $9.99 Type S cupholder for hanging on heat/ac vent outlets. I chose a different route.

Hangs on the coin holder top recessed slots, had to tighten the side wings of the coin door, just a pinch. No alteration or damage to ash tray or coin holder. Usable with ash tray open or closed. I prefer closed because the closed ashtray stabilizes it more, open is a little shaky but does work. I think it looks pretty good.
Removable, lifts right off and stows in console or glove box. Silver color is nearly an exact match. It did have a Type S logo on the front that I covered with one of Andrew's decals.

Well, maybe not. With my eyesight, my imagination, and out of focus background on picture 4, guess I was just dreaming.

You can do that when you're a bachelor. Got big guns on there too.
In fact I'm looking at the OEM cupholder right now thinking my Colt Defender will fit in it's slot
Pop up pistol, somebody make me stop.

I actually really like that! Can you fit a cup in there such as a starbucks cup or a small McDondalds drink cup?
Also really like the little decal. How much was that and who is Andrew?

I would think you could fit a McD drink cup into it because it's a standard sized cup holder with a spring loaded flap. It comes with a foam pad for sweating cans but I put a bowl shaped bottom in to keep all moisture in the bowl. I like it a whole lot....it looks like it was meant to be there.
If you go that route here are the quick fit details.
The hooked end you see in the pic will need the top side filed down about halfway thru just on the ends so that it won't put too much downward force on the ashtray/coin holder when closed.
It also comes with an adjustable stabilizer on the bottom, I adjusted it all the way in and works perfect.
The only room for improvement that I will do later is put a small piece of double sided tape under the coinholder side flaps for insurance. I can get it to fall with a tremendous amount of abuse (not normal driving) The double sided tape will take care of that and is removable. Thought about using a screw thru the side but don't like permanent mods.

The decal are sold by Andrew, a member of this forum. I bought a complete set just to replace the faded Chrysler logo's on my center caps. Reasonable and great quality. You can PM him for info / prices.

Nice idea but not for a 6 speed. (unless you never use first but is good for malls, parades, and driveways).

I wondered about the six speed, mine is an auto, also don't know if it would block any control buttons for a ragtop. Mine is a coupe and it blocks nothing.

Does this one cleverly fold up when not in use?

C'mon, you gotta' do better than that?

I have 2 of them in my "Future Projects" drawer.

Well, that decides it for me...One on the passenger side. The driver's holds my mounted holster.

Thanks!

When I have a passenger I let them hold their drink since it doesn't take up leg room.

My wife's purse will now be relegated to "Boot Duty".

But she'll trade that for a functional drink holder. Any day.
