Default ***Crankshaft Position Sensor***

Hey whats going on Crossfire family, first of all I did search the forum to see if I could answer my own question by searching but i could not find it 100 percent clear....anyway my crankshaft position sensor went out and so I literally replaced it about 45 minutes ago with a non-bosch sensor, the car ride home the car once again died on me while I was driving. Any idea why? I do understand it could be a lot of things but maybe someone had exact problem. Is there a process that I missed I had to do before replacing sensor? I do not know if it matters but I have a 2005 SRT6 with 74,000miles

Yep, anything other than a Benz or Bosch sensor will make these cars finicky. Also, I didn't disconnect my battery, or wait a couple of minutes before starting. Just swapped mine out in the parking lot.

mendezfa, before you put more money into the CPS you should pull the diagnostic code; It could surprise you and save some money and time.

Ok that sounds like a good idea too. I hope the car can make it to the nearest mechanic shop. i do not have a diagnostics code reader.

It cranks if I wait for about 30 minutes. It acts as if the engine has to "cool down" before I try again. I just went out 20 mins ago and it turned on right away but once again the check engine light turned on. Thats the problem though it will cut out while I am driving and i literally have to wait till the "engine cools down" to turn it back on.
