Crossfire Engine and Gear Box

I would like to get a manual Crossfire but these seem less popular. I know that this car was a joint venture between Chrysler and Mercedes.

Does anyone know if the engine and/or from the SLK is the same as the cross fire and do you know if many other part are interchangeable???

I am more concerned for the future for parts and not right now.

Engine, tranny and most running gear are MB, so they are interchangeable. Interior/exterior soft trim parts will be the problem going forward. Chrysler dealers are already charging a fortune for parts.
