Also to add to my post....my German mechanic says that German cars do not rust because they are undercoated so well and sealed. Is this true? He says the engine will wear out faster than the body. True? Have any of you noticed rust on your car? He said the only time you might is if it has been in an accident and not repaired properly.....

I've had one of those electronic devices (still in the wrapper) for about 10 years. I won it at a car show.
So I can't really comment on how they work.
Cleveland Ohio does use equiptment on some of their bridges that works using the same principle.

Oil rigs use alot of anodes placed stategically on the structure under the water. And works through electrolysis and it will rust through the replaceable anode plates before it will rust the structure of the oil rig.
Not just on oil rigs they are used on various stationary objects in salt water.
Those are just replaceable plates.
I used to be a commercial diver, when I found out about those.
The electrical versions, work through electrolysis also and if done right should work. But with good under body coatings and using a car wash washing salt off every once in awhile you will not see much rust.
Well unless you have a Chevrolet product.
There is always slot more rust on a Chevy truck then any others.

plates are used on boat motors and such as well.... Having an '08 MB E class, there is no rust anywhere, and it is a daily driver.... keeping her clean and keeping those little crevices cleaned out along the fender wells and rockers will help....you have get down under there to see those.... The big rig gets sprayed off every evening in our wash bay before getting parked in it's new heated floor truck garage. Finally the company I work for is given in to my wishes....lol
I might add, the only proven rust device I know of is YOU....good luck

And the other anti-rust option : move to Alabama .
We NEVER use salt , just sand, and that's only about once or twice a year.

True. If a really big snow is expected ( more than 2" ), then we just shut down all the schools and most businesses and wait for it to melt.
The roads are left to the good ole boys with 4WD pickups and huge tires.

Hmm, here is my thinking. We live in Florida, close to the beach. It is sometimes very humid here with the ocean air. I want to keep the car rust free "forever". The car lives in a garage when not in use but I like to use it. The brake rotors rust very quickly. hmmmm.

IF the unit does what the maker claims it is supposed to do, it would only protect metal parts that are connected to the chassis. The rotors are not.

The device detects the amount of electricity necessary to create an electrostatic field that will charge the vehicle’s metal structure with ions and then keep those ions from mobilizing, which is what causes corrosion. By maintaining that electrostatic charge between the oxygen in the air and the car’s metal, rust is held at bay and your car stays shiny and new looking.

I invented a similar device that makes me have erections like when I was 18. Works like a champ.
You can order either device by sending me $175 at:

Pizzaguy
PO Box 2865
Cumming, GA 30028

Shipping is included! Specify "Vehicle Rust Protector" or "Young Wand Maker"
Or specify "both" for $300.
