WOW. Why didn't they produce this car?

A few years back when we visited the Chrysler Museum, the guide told us that was going to be the Gen 2 Crossfire. James

 

What I always understood, it was a concept car that was just one of the casualties of the Daimler/Chrysler divorce.

 

Daimler didn't have a chassis that they wanted to donate! LOL

 

While beautiful, the Firepower was the wrong car at the wrong time for Chrysler. Just like the Crossfire, the public did not associate Chrysler as a high end $$ sports coupe manufacturer. Combine that with a time when the economy was headed into one of the worst ever seen.

 

Very interesting vehicle, though!

 

Take a SSB NA coupe, drop in a 6.1L Hemi, add some chrome and bodywork, VOILA !
Nuttin Chip Foose couldn't do in a week.

Wonder what happened to the "standard G-Force meter" ?
I also like that radio better than what was used.

 

I just wish they would have produced the Crossfire like this!!!!...Carl
